Very good Italian dishes---simple, but taste like your grandmother made them (if she was from Italy). Relaxing but vibrant, rustic and cozy atmosphere, and the smells and sounds of the mountain forest all around make it well worth the trip!

Wow. This is the first time Yelp dropped the ball. Hard. Like a glass ball on concrete. On a trip to Fallingwater we stopped by Nico's. Let me start by saying that I am no skinflint and I have no reservation spending money on a great meal. This place however is a colossal rip off. We called for reservations and we were given the brush off and told that they were completely booked with no seating until 8pm. We arrived early thinking that we would have a drink at the bar and the place was 90% empty. Like ghost town/crickets empty. The hostess apologized and explained that they were swamped with catering orders and were understaffed. This seemed reasonable but didn't explain why the same hostess was sitting at the bar eating dinner and drinks with two servers on our way out...but I digress. The service was not good. You can completely tell that this restaurant must NEVER get busy because everyone working seemed completely flustered and overwhelmed by the fact that there was more than one table being used in the restaurant. The food was actually quite tasty and well prepared. And then the bill came. Holy cow. I nearly dropped over dead. $250 for four of us. No dessert. Just salad and an entree. Complete rip off, especially considering the lackluster service and lack of attentiveness by the wait staff. Pass right on by Nico's and so yourself a grand favor: pack a picnic instead.

Let's just start by noting the location. You are in mt pleasant. Really close to the donegal exit. Turn right off the turnpike and then go down the hill about 6 miles and its on the left before the gas station at the traffic light. Lots of parking in the lot. It took about five mins waiting for our waitress to come over. Then she walked away as another table was bossing her around. And the comment she said to us was nothing short of inappropriate. After ten mins she was back and we asked for a drink menu. 15 mins later we were no further off than when we first sat down. 30 mins later we had fresh bread that was worth the wait. The cornbread was homemade and fresh. Still no drinks. Bread gone by now and we got our wine. And our waitress had disappeared by now. And the busboy was amazingly filling in and doing a better job than those at eleven downtown. Suga, honey, sweet thang were all part of his vocab but it was special and had a nice country yinzer accent. He was the star of the night. The fried calamari was over cooked and rubbery. The fried zucchini was liked by my wife. I ordered the special sea bass. $29 later I was served a thin tail piece of not sea bass. It was a scam! But I choose not to make a big deal of my mess of a meal. The wife had the fettuccine and it was normal and pretty good. Leftovers had a little too much oil on it. Overall not a good meal but expectations were low but still a better choice than any restaurant at 7 spring.

Tucked away in little mount pleasant, Pa is a very nice gem of a restaurant. Not fancy, but has lots of local character and the food is very good and the bar drinks are even better. Salad with arugula, strawberries and red onions was tasty. Had beef (so-so), poached salmon with dill sauce (good effort), and tasty yellow cake for dessert.

Hello Nino's! We have driven by this gem for years. Finally decided to stop today. So glad we did. What a charming place. We stopped at the bar. The bartender (Tammy) very knowledgeable - gave us a tour of the place and a history lesson. The dining rooms are beautiful, the stained glass gorgeous, and the patio is lovely. We had the antipasti platter, the homemade meatballs, and the pasta with homemade red sauce. Delicious. Every bite. The antipasti platter was ingenious! It was loaded with goodness - marinated mushrooms, artichokes, peppers, olives, anchovy crostini, tomato pie tuna and white bean, hot soppressata, mild salami, peppered salami, prosciutto, wonderful cheeses. Served with homemade bread and cornbread with an incredible tomato jam. We will be back. The had soft-shell crabs as one of the specials, if we weren't so full we would have tried that too!

I recently went to Ninos for dinner with a large group. They did not seem prepared even though this dinner had been planned for months and all of the meals were pre-ordered. The food tasted okay, nothing special. I had a very average stuffed chicken breast. It was served with asparagus and potatoes. Some of the asparagus was perfectly cooked, some was overdone. The roasted potatoes were awesome - crispy and flavorful. We were served cheesecake for dessert, which was good, but not special. One star because I got with food poisoning which led to me throwing up on myself on a bus in front of approximately 60 people about three hours after the meal. I missed three days of work after eating at Ninos.

What a diamond in the rough! We wandered into Ninos because we were in the area for a wedding. Not much seems to be open or available around there. Ninos was such a nice surprise. Amazing food and unbelievable service. Although we were their last seating, Ian made us feel welcome and never made us feel rushed. He was super attentive...our water glasses were never below half full, and the food was prepared perfectly. I highly recommend Ninos to anyone who would like a nice dining experience.

I had the pleasure of eating at Ninos for the first time in about 20 years the other day. It has very nice atmosphere and the food was outstanding. They have an interesting menu and some unusual items. Try the onion soup if you go.

Great place to stop for a meal if you're on the way to FallingWater! We went on a Sunday and were able to catch the Sunday Brunch Buffet! The brunch was great! It's not the type of brunch you find at a trendy restaurant with a bunch of girls catching up about the night before, but instead it's a nice cozy, yummy, filling brunch. There were lots of large groups and it looked like this was definitely the spot to be on a Sunday afternoon! The service is great and you could tell most of the patrons were regulars.

Very solid Italian fare in a dark cozy environment. While better can be found in Pittsburgh, you can't go wrong at Nino's.

Had a most pleasant surprise having a holiday luncheon at Nino's yesterday. Since I hadn't been there for ages, I wasn't sure what to expect .The atmosphere hasn't changed in at least 20 years, but it is so charming and doesn't feel dated at all. The food was delicious. Started with the fried zucchini which was served with lemon, horseradish and marinara sauces. It was excellent, not greasy and perfectly fried. Next was the special, chicken Marsala served with a nice baby arugula salad. The sauce of the Marsala was excellent and the salad was perfect. Warm bread served with a caramelized onion jam was great to sop up the last bit of that yummy sauce. No room for dessert, unfortunately. I will definitely return, perhaps in the summer when I can sit outside.

On a cross country road trip to Seattle via all the awesome places I've wanted to see... On my way to see Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water house and this place is such a hidden gem. The patio seating on a June evening was PERFECT! The drinks were perfect and the food was fresh and delicious. In the middle of NOWHERE. This place is definitely worth a visit.
